Gourmet Cheese Varieties
Enjoy some of the finest cheese in the world! Sourced through Luc’s European Meats at the Calgary Farmers Market.
Chateau de Bourgogne Triple Cream Brie - 200g - The aroma of Chateau de Bourgogne is creamy and somewhat buttery, with a hint of mushroom. The paste is creamy and rich, melting in your mouth like soft butter, while the slightly bitter rind acts as an excellent balance to the creamy and decadent interior.
Cabouron Blackburn (Quebec) 100g - Le Cabouron has a fine orange rind and a soft, creamy beige paste. It features aromas of fresh milk and salt. Its flavours are sweet, lactic, nutty and buttery with a subtle tang.
Cendré Charlevoix (Quebec) 100g - Le Cendré presents an orange rind, a cream-coloured interior with a line of blue throughout. Rich with the scent of grassy meadows, it also offers a slightly sharp lactic note and a pleasant fruitiness. It’s name evokes the many forest fires that decimated Grands-Jardins National Park in years past, greatly altering the parkland near Laiterie Charlevoix. “Ash lined”, Pasteurized Cows Milk – Quebec
Manchego, 12 month (Spain) 100g - The Manchego cheese is produced in the La Mancha region of Spain. It is made from pasteurised sheep's milk. Nutty, Buttery, Firm, slightly salty.
Creamy Gorgonzola (Blue Cheese, Italy) 100g - Gorgonzola Dolce DOP is a soft, blue, buttery cheese made from pasteurized cow's milk. It has a pale-yellow buttery paste speckled with a homogeneous distribution of blue and green veins. The rind is compact, rough, hard and grey/pinkish in colour but not edible. Flavours are not very assertive but sweet, mild with notes of sour cream and lactic tang. It takes a minimum of 45 days of ageing to let Gorgonzola demonstrate its unique characteristics.
Oveja Queso con Trufa (truffle cheese) 100g
Compté 18 mo (amazing French cheese) 100g
Caramelized Onion Cheddar (incredible flavour) 100g
Beemsters (extra old - delicious!) 100g
Capri Ella 100g : A semi firm young goats milk cheese, we liken this to a goat milk Havarti as it is very mild and creamy with a slight fresh clover finish. (From Stonetown, St. Marys, ON)
Grand Trunk 100g: A farmstead Gruyere style cheese, a firm texture which is more toasted nutty body with a herbaceous sharp finish. (From Stonetown, St. Marys, ON)
Please note that the pricing for the cheese is approximate as the 100g weight will vary slightly. The set price online will cover this difference each week. There also may be substitutions based on availability but the cheese variety will be very similar. Thank you!
